DUSHANBE, January 21, 2010, Asia-Plus — Three Tajik and sixteen foreign air carriers, including 10 airlines from the CIS states, now use services rendered by the Dushanbe International Airport, Aziz Ibrohimov, deputy director general of the Dushanbe International Dushanbe, told reporters in Dushanbe today.
In 2009, the Dushanbe airport realized a profit of 67 million somoni and the airport transferred 26.9 million somoni in taxes to the country’s budget last year, Ibrohimov said.
He added that the airport has bought shares in Roghun for 5 million somoni since January 6, when the country’s government started to sell Roghun shares to people to raise funds to complete construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP). Besides, the airport employees have purchased Roghun shares for totaling 5.22 million somoni to this day, Ibrohimov added.
