KHUJAND, January 28, 2010, Asia-Plus — By January 28, residents of the Sughd province and enterprises operating in the area have bought shares in open joint-stock company (OJSC) NBO Roghun for a total of 132.149 million somoni, Asia-Plus has learned at the Khujand-based special commission to support the construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP).

“Khujand has bought shares in Roghun for 25.015 million somoni, Bobojonghafurov district – 16.548 somoni, Isfara – 13.525 million somoni, Istaravshan – 13.659 million somoni, Qairoqqum – 5.61 million somoni, Konibodom – 8.444 million somoni, Panjakent – 6.248 million somoni, Asht – 7.88 million somoni, Ayni – 2.373 million somoni, Mastchoh – 4.328 million somoni, and the city of Chkalovsk – 6.427 million somoni,” the source said, noting that Sughd residents are continuing to buy Roghun shares.

We will recall that the government started to sell Roghun shares to people to raise funds to complete construction of the Roghun HPP on January 6 this year.
