DUSHANBE, February 12, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Three foreigners were detained at the Dushanbe airport on February 11 and totaling more than 5 kilograms of heroin were confiscated from them, according to the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan.

An inspection of passengers on the flight Dushanbe-Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) found 1.606 kilograms of heroin hidden in luggage of Russian national Igor Shestakov and 1.795 kilograms and 1.604 kilograms of heroin hidden in luggage of two women from Lithuania – 24-year-old Cristina Bizyulyavichyute and 45-year-old Dalya Deksnene – respectively.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug couriers and an investigation is under way.
