DUSHANBE, April 8, 2010, Asia-Plus — Tajik MFA is closely watching the situation in Kyrgyzstan, Davlat Nazriyev, the head of the MFA information department, said in an interview with Asia-Plus. He stated that change of power in Kyrgyzstan was domestic affairs of that republic.
“Proceeding from interest in retention of political stability in the friendly country we consider it important that all arising issues would be settled within legal space,” the MFA spokesman said.
Tajikistan’s MFA also calls on the confronting sides to the confronting sides to refrain from using force in order to avoid bloodshed.
The MFA spokesman assured that Tajik diplomats working in Kyrgyzstan were taking measures so that Tajik nationals living and working in that country would not suffer.
In the meantime, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who visited Kyrgyzstan last week, announced on April 8 that he would be sending a UN envoy to the country immediately.
