DUSHANBE, April 20, 2010, Asia-Plus  — The issue of introduction of “One-stop-shop” (OSS) principle when state registration of enterprises and entrepreneurs for simplification of export/import and transit procedures on the territory of Tajikistan will be considered at the government session on April 30, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Farrukh Hamraliyev said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) jointly with the Customs Service has developed a plan of events for introduction of a simplified system of foreign economic activity.

“The government has already considered the plan and it has been submitted for further consideration at an enlarged session of the government,” said the minister, “If the plan is endorsed, an appropriate resolution will be passed and after that MEDT in cooperation with relevant structures will be engaged in implementation of the plan within the next four years”

In the meantime, Askar Nouraliyev, the deputy head of the MEDT marketing and trade activity regulation directorate, noted that the findings of analysis of the country’s permit procedures for import/export and transit operations have shown that the system requires simplification.  Entrepreneurs are currently losing from three to twenty days to get necessary documents in several agencies, while the implementation of the OSS principle will allow completing permit documents through e-mail in one of the governmental agencies. Nouraliyev said. He added that the implementation of the new registration system would give an additional impulse to economic reforms and development of business environment in Tajikistan.
