DUSHANBE, May 6, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A number of public associations have joined the Coordination Council of business Associations of Tajikistan.

The 28th session of the Council took place in Dushanbe on May 5 and the Association of International Road Transport Operators of Tajikistan, the National Association of Managers and Marketers of Tajikistan, the Association of Internet-providers of Tajikistan, the Union of Young Russian Fellow-countrymen and the public association, Agrarian Alliance, were admitted to the Council.

The meeting reviewed the results of work of the previous session of the Council and discussed president’s annual address to parliament.

The Council members endorsed the list of their representatives to working groups of the ministries and departments for implementation of the government’s plan of actions on improvement of the investment climate and Tajikistan’s improvement in global ranking.

The Council members also discussed the issue of giving a status of legal entity to the Coordination Council of Business Associations of Tajikistan.

Besides, the IFC report “Business Environment in Tajikistan as Seen by Small and Medium Enterprises, 2009” was presented at the meeting.

Established in 2007, the Coordination Council of Business Associations and Public Unions of Tajikistan is dedicated to provide effective and consolidated participation of business community in developing and carrying out economic reforms, elaborating business-related laws, creating favorable conditions for devel­opment of entrepreneurship, raising its role in providing economic growth of the country and sustainable development of market economy.
