DUSHANBE, May 12, 2010, Asia-Plus  — New ambassadors of Armenia and Turkmenistan presented the credentials to President Emomali Rahmon today, according to presidential press service.

President Rahmon’s meeting with the new Armenian Ambassador to Tajikistan, Vladimir Badalyan, focused on state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Armenia.

Tajik leader, in particular, noted that Tajikistan attached significance to relations with Armenia.  He also noted that there was considerable room for expansion of economic ties between the two countries.

The sides also discussed issues related to intensification of activity of the Tajik-Armenian intergovernmental commission for economic, scientific and cultural cooperation.

President Rahmon and the new Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Tajikistan, Nokerguli Ataguliyev, discussed resumption of rail and aerial communication between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

They also discussed activity of the Tajik-Turkmen commission for economic and trade and cooperation and the signing of new agreements on cooperation between the two countries in different fields, presidential press service said.
