DUSHANBE, May 13, 2010, Asia-Plus  — By president’s decree of May 11 Saymumin Yatimov was relieved of his post of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to the Kingdom of Belgium in connection with transfer to other job, according to presidential press service.

Saymumin Yatimov was appointed deputy chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), replacing Abdullo Nazarov.  Abdullo Nazarov was appointed to head the GBAO security directorate.

Saymumin Yatimov was born in Khatlon province in 1955.  He graduated from the Faculty of Tajik Language and Literature at Kulob Teachers’ Training Institute in 1976 and the Faculty of Law at Tajik National University in 2003.  Yatimov has Doctor’s degree in Political Science.

In different years, Major-General Yatimov worked with local authorities in Khatlon, security service and MFA.  In 1996-1997, he served as Ambassador at Large, MFA.  In 1997-2000, he served as Counselor of the Tajik Embassy in Tehran.  In 2000-2005, he served as Deputy Minister of Security and in 2005-2007; he served as the First Deputy Foreign Minister.  From May 2, 2007 to May 11, 2010, Saymumin Yatimov served as Tajik Ambassador to Belgium and Head of the Mission of Tajikistan to the EC.
