DUSHANBE. June 4. “Asia-Plus” — At least 15-20 women gathered this morning at the doors of Uzbekistan’s embassy in Dushanbe demanding that government of the neighboring country resumes transit of rail wagons to Tajikistan.

The protesters handed their letter to representative of the embassy addressed to Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov in which they urge Uzbek leader to improve relations with Tajikistan, Uzbek embassy in Tajikistan told the AP.

“We consider this move a provocation aimed at deterioration of relations between the two sovereign states,” the embassy has said.

According to Uzbek diplomat, the embassy may send a related note to the government of Tajikistan regarding the demonstration.

According to the embassy, the protesting women have already left the scene.

According to Ozodi radio, the protest was headed by former secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Tajik Soviet Republic Guljahon Bobosadykova. The AP failed to contact the organizers of the protest.
