DUSHANBE. June 4. “Asia-Plus” — UNFPA announces the launch of a project aimed at provision of relief assistance to reproductive health of women resettled to new places from disaster affected areas of Kulob.

The assistance will include provision of personal hygiene kits, assistance for safe deliveries and prevention of sexual violence, REACT group said in its bulletin.

UNFPA will provide reproductive kits, medical products and items to medical institutions. National reproductive health team together with social workers will provide first medical aid, contribute to health improvement and conduct events aimed at improvement of maternal and children’s health. According to REACT message, the move will include awareness campaign on gender issues and sexual violence and a special session on the given subject for health workers.

UNFPA allocated $150.000 for the purchase of medical equipment and kits, while country office allocated $20.000 for various events on reproductive health in Kulob area.
