DUSHANBE. June 9. “Asia-Plus” — More than 50 young Tajik journalists gathered today in front of the doors of Uzbekistan’s embassy in Dushanbe to express their indignation over blockage of rail wagons with cargoes for Tajikistan on the territory of Uzbekistan.

The protesters urged to stop groundless blockage of cargoes at Uzbekistan’s rail stations. They wanted to meet with Uzbek Ambassador to Tajikistan but not a single representative of the embassy talked to the protesters.

After a while police officers wearing civilian clothing asked the protesters to stop the action.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s Embassy in Tajikistan told the AP that such acts “contribute to further deterioration of Tajik-Uzbek relations.”
