DUSHANBE. June 10. “Asia-Plus” — Perspectives of mutually beneficial cooperation and results of economic development of Tajikistan were discussed yesterday by the Tajik Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddinov and head of Ambassador, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Tajikistan Mr. Eduard Auer.

The sides have also discussed problems connected with the impacts of the global economic crisis on the economy of the republic and related efforts that being taken by the government, Tajik Ministry of Finance told the AP.

“The sides have discussed issues connected with provision of financial assistance to Tajikistan for 2011-2013 where priority will be given to support and increase of financial assistance to social sectors, including health care and social protection. It has been also noted that the EU will continue to support reforms in agricultural sector and financial management,” the source has said.

According to the source, Najmiddinov also said that assistance provided by the EU in the times of continuing global financial crisis is timely and crucial for resolution of existing problems in different sectors of the country’s economy and urged for further development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the EU.
