DUSHANBE, September 22, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Six companies have lodged applications for participation in a tender for audit of Tajik central bank’s activity in 2010, according to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).

“The term of lodging application expired on September 14 and the NBT’s commission is currently considering the companies’ bids,” said the source, “The names of companies participating in the tender are not yet disclosed.  The company for conducting audit at Tajik central bank will be selected within the next few days.”

We will recall that NBT announced a tender for audit of its financial activities in 2010 last month and the audit companies having not less than 5-year experience in conducting audit at central banks have been invited to take part in the tender.

The audit company will examine the NBT financial statements for 2010.  The audit will include examination of proper execution of financial statements as well as determination of compliance of the NBT’s accounting with International Accounting Standard (IAS), the source said.

The audit of Tajik central bank’s financial activities in 2009 was conducted by KPMG Audit LLC, a Kazakhstan limited liability company and a member firm of the KPMG network of independent member firms affiliated with KPMG.
