DUSHANBE, September 27, 2010, Asia-Plus  — The Dushanbe heat and power plant is expected to be provided with 30,000 tons of fuel oil and 130 million cubic meters of natural gas during autumn-winter 20101-2011, according to the Dushanbe mayor’s office.

This amount will be enough to generate 135 gigacalories per hour that will allow providing with heat only 715 buildings in the city.  “However, even generation of this small volume of heat is till in doubt because Barqi Tojik power holding (Tajik electricity supplier) has failed to fulfill target on providing the Dushanbe heat and power plant with natural gas in recent years,” the source said, noting that the Dushanbe heat and power plant has stockpiled only 15,100 tons of fuel oil so far.   

In the meantime, Dushanbe’s heating system plans to provide 21 social facilities with heat in autumn-winter 2010-2011 due to use of 12 autonomous boiler houses, the source added.

Usually heating season starts in Dushanbe in November.
