KULOB, September 28, 2010, Asia-Plus — By September 27, five cotton producing districts in the Kulob zone of Khatlon province have yielded 23,304 tons of raw cotton, which is 45.3 percent of this year’s cotton target, Abdullo Rajabov, a lead specialist with the Kulob agriculture directorate, told Asia-Plus Monday afternoon.

According to him, Hamadoni district has reached 53.2 percent of its target and Farkhor district has reached 51.02 percent of its target to this day.

We will recall that 26,783 hectares of farmland in the Kulob zone has been allotted to cotton cultivation this year and local cotton farmers plan to yield 51,431 tons of cotton.
