DUSHANBE, October 1, 2010, Asia-Plus — A high-ranking official with the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting is suspected of a large-scale bribery, according to Tajik law enforcement authorities.
H.T., a high-ranking official with the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting, was detained by officers from Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption yesterday on suspicion of bribe taking.
The matter is 30,000 U.S. dollars that H.T. was allegedly to transfer to the higher official in the Committee.
The anticorruption officers are currently establishing whether other officials from the TV and Radio Committee are also involved in that bribery cases. Investigation is under way.
