DUSHANBE, February 4, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Shukurjon Zuhurov yesterday received Turkish Ambassador to Tajikistan Mehmet Munis Dirik.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the sides discussed a broad range of issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey, including cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.

Zuhurov, in particular, called on the Turkish side to collaborate more active with Tajikistan in sectors like agriculture, industry, and tourism.  According to him, Tajik parliament has created necessary legal foundation for free operation of foreign companies in the country.

Mr. Dirik, for his part, noted that he would do all that was in his power to promote further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all directions, the spokesman said.
