DUSHANBE, October 15, 2011, Asia-Plus — Tajik Minister of Interiors Abdurahim Qahhorov attended the next meeting of the CIS interior ministers’ council that took place in the Armenian capital Yerevan on October 14.  

The source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) says the meeting that brought together interior ministers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan focused on implementation of interstate programs dedicated to combat crime, terrorism, drug trafficking and trafficking in persons.

Issues related to strengthening of interaction between the CIS interior ministries in countering illegal migration within the CIS area and the concept of interaction in combating cyber crimes were also among major topics of the meeting, the source noted.

The meeting also discussed an agenda of celebratory events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the CIS.

The council adopted decisions on all the questions on the agenda.

The meeting participants agreed to hold their next session in 2012 in Azerbaijan.
