DUSHANBE, November 4, 2011, Asia-Plus  — A student from Tajik National University has been arrested on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.

According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the fourth-year-student from Tajik National University B.J., 23, was detained on November 3 and 862 grams of raw opium were confiscated from him.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against alleged drug pusher and an investigation is under way.

According to the data from the Interior Ministry, Tajik law enforcement authorities have seized more than 1,500 kilograms of narcotics over the first ten months of this year.
