DUSHANBE, November28, 2011, Asia-Plus – On Friday November 25, representatives from the Drug Control Agency (DCA) under the President of Tajikistan held in a meeting at Dushanbe’s mosque named after Mir Sayyd Ali Hamadani to discuss the drug abuse prevention issues.
According to the DCA press center, the meeting took place before the Friday prayer, which is congregational prayer.
Religion plays an important role in the social life of Tajikistan, and therefore, the DCA representatives considered it important to hold such meetings to discuss issues related to raising drug abuse awareness of the population, the source said.
During the meeting, the counter narcotics officers called on clerics to actively participate in propagation of ideas of healthy lifestyle among young people.
