DUSHANBE, January 8, 2012, Asia-Plus  — One person has been killed in a house fire in Dushanbe.

According to the Interior Ministry firefighting department, the fire broke in a private house in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district on January 6.  The 54-year-old Igor Kupriyenko who got carbon monoxide poisoning died on the way to hospital, the source said, noting that the fire was caused by careless smoking.

In all, more than ten people across the country have died from carbon monoxide poisoning over the past month, the source added.
