DUSHANBE, January 8, 2012, Asia-Plus — One person has been killed in a rock fall in Gorno Badakhshan.

According to the Interior Ministry, the 40-year-old Ashrafjon Saidov, the driver for one of border units, was killed on January 6 as the rock fall hit his KAMAZ (heavy truck).

“The accident took place on the 504th kilometer of the highway from Dushanbe to Khorog via Kulob,” said the source, “The driver sustained serious injuries and died on the way to hospital.”
