DUSHANBE, January 18, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Ways of combining efforts and using the European Union (EU) and NATO capacity to strengthen border control and fight terrorism and drug trafficking were discussed in Brussels on Tuesday at a meeting of Rustamjon Soliyev, Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, the European Union and NATO with his Afghan counterpart Humayun Tandar, the Tajik MFA information department reports.

The two also considered a broad range of issues related to use of Tajikistan’s education, transportation and energy capacity and opportunity for restoration of Afghanistan’s economy.

Soliyev and Tandar also discussed preparations for the Fifth Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA V) that will take in Dushanbe on March 26-27 this year, the source said.
