DUSHANBE, February 8, 2012, Asia-Plus  — On Wednesday February 8, Sharif Said, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Camber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), met here with Tia Guantai (phonetically spelled), Head of the Commerce Department of China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR), the CCI press center reports.

Organization of the next international exhibition of export goods from XUAR and some other provinces of China in Dushanbe were a major topic of the meeting.   

The main objective of the exhibition is in promoting attraction investments to boost Tajikistan’s economy, search for business partners and launch of joint ventures, the source noted.

Mr. Said, in particular, noted that annual exhibitions and conferences with participation of representatives from Tajik and Chinese business communities were evidence of broad opportunities of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, Mr. Tia said that the next exhibition would be one more step towards further strengthening of friendly relations between China and Tajikistan.

Said and Tia signed an agreement on holding the next exhibition of export goods from China’s XUAR in Dushanbe in September this year, the source added.   

Since 2004, similar exhibitions have taken place in Dushanbe, Kulob, Danghara, Gorno Badakhshan and other regions of Tajikistan.
