DUSHANBE, November 7, 2012, Asia-Plus  — On Monday November 5, Mr. Safiallo Devonayev, Chairman of the Migrations Service under the Government of Tajikistan received Mr. Yoon Jong-ku, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Korea to Tajikistan.

According to the press center of Tajik migration service agency, issues related to signing of a government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Korea on labor migration were a major topic of the meeting.

Korean diplomat reportedly noted that he had sent an official letter to Korea’s Ministry of Labor with solicitation to consider that issue.

A Tajik delegation is expected to visit Seoul to consider a number of issues related to cooperation with the Ministry of Labor of Korea.

Korean ambassador also noted that according to his data, some 1,500 Tajik nationals are currently in Korea and there are businessmen among them, the source noted.

The Tajik migration service agency head offered to send 50-100 Tajik nationals to Korea to take training course at the plant producing Hyundai-Starex vans.

The sides reportedly also discussed organization of Korean language courses for Tajik labor migrants.
