DUSHANBE, December 24, 2012, Asia-Plus  — The Administration of the FEZ Sughd has signed a number of documents on cooperation with international organization, agencies and special zone.

A statement released by FEZ Sughd, in particular notes that FEZ Sughd has reportedly signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Administration of the Zone for Reconstruction and Development of Dasin, a new district of the city of Sian.

The document in particular, provides for expansion of cooperation between the sides in different aspects, ranging from establishment of cooperation between the business circles and attraction of investments to training of personnel and experience exchange.

Besides, FEZ Sughd signed a memorandum of cooperation with the International Non Governmental Cooperation Organization for Renewable Energy (INGCORE).

This preliminary documentation reportedly provides for establishment of cooperation in the following fields:    

– Mutual organizational and information support for seeking potential investors, partners for implementation and financing of investment projects in the field of complex development of alternative energy and energy saving technologies; 

– Establishment of scientific and research center for alternative energy and energy saving technologies in coordination with the governments of the countries;   

– Joint participation in creating concomitant infrastructure and supporting attraction of investments; 

– Assisting involvement of new partners and opening of new product markets as well as joint arrangement and holding of meetings with interested investors; 

– Preparation and spread of joint print and electronic publications, etc;  

– Organization of exchange of experience as well as training of personnel and professional personnel development;    

– Joint participation in organization of exhibitions, conferences, forums as well as joint participation or mutual representation of interests in such events.    

FEZ Sughd also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Gansu Natural Research Center and UNIDO International Center for Promotion and Transfer of Solar Energy (ISEC).

The sides reportedly agreed to cooperate on export of technologies and seeking partners and investors for development of the solar energy sector in Tajikistan, providing assistance with attracting investments for research studies and creation of joint enterprises on the territory of FEZ Sughd.

These documents were reportedly signed in China recently on the sidelines of International Investment Forum.

The Sughd Free Economic Zone or FEZ Sughd is a free economic zone located in Sughd province on the territory of the south-west industrial zone of the city of Khujand.  FEZ Sughd was created in 2008 by a parliamentary decree on 320 hectares of land for 25 years and began operating in August 2009.  In 2010, the Administration of the Sughd FEZ registered first five corporate residents of the free economic zone.  The zone offers customs and tax incentives to qualified investors that invest at least 500,000 USD and import at least 90% of the technology and equipment.
