DUSHANBE, December 11, 2013, Asia-Plus – The Social-Democratic Party (SDP) leader Rahmatillo Zoirov intends to lodge an application to a prosecutor’s office in Dushanbe’s Sino district over yesterday’s incident during his press conference at SDP’s headquarters in Dushanbe.
“We are going to find out who and why ordered to break my meeting with journalists,” Zoirov told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, they are currently taking measures to identify women, who burst into SDP’s headquarters yesterday, in order to specify their names in the application.
“They entered the party office illegally and broke the press conference that is infringement of the law,” said SDP leader. “We will convene a meeting of the party board, invite the head of the Sino district, and identify the persons who burst into our office yesterday. Some of them have already been identified.”
He further noted that the persons, who had illegally entered the party office during the briefing, “are a mobile group, probably consisting of women from Dushanbe’s Sino district.” Some of them rallied in front of the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe last April, protesting release of former Prime Minister Abdumalik Abdullojonov from custody in Ukraine, Zoirov noted.
“Besides, members of our party identified two guys. According to them, they are police or security officers, but during the incident they were in civilian dress,” Zoirov said.
We will recall that SDP leader Rahmatillo Zoirov was going to give a press conference to journalists at SDP’s headquarters in Dushanbe Tuesday morning in order to share information about his recent trip to Ukraine and his impression of what is going on in Kyiv, but a group of 10 or 15 women burst into SDP’s office and broke the press conference. They accused Rahmatillo Zoirov of an attempt to destabilize the situation in the country.
