DUSHANBE, December 25, 2013, Asia-Plus — By ruling handed down by the Antimonopoly Agency under the Government of Tajikistan water rates will be raised in Dushanbe beginning on January 1, 2014.

“Beginning on January 1, 2014, water rates will be 1.3688 somoni per one cubic meter for federally funded institutions (against current 1.004 somoni) and 3.0399 somoni per one cubic meter for commercial organizations (against current 2.71 somoni),” Shavkat Saidov,  a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office told Asia-Plus in an interview.

Residents of houses with water meters will pay 0.4161 somoni for one cubic meter (current price for them is 0.32 somoni).  People who reside up the 12th floor in apartment buildings without water meters will pay 4.54654 somoni per month (current price for them is 3.50 somoni), and people who reside above the 12th floor in apartment buildings without water meters residents of apartment buildings without water meters will pay 5.69586 somoni per month (current price for them is 4.38 somoni).  People reside in dormitories will pay 3.77 somoni per month (current price for them is 2.90 somoni).
