DUSHANBE, March 18, 2014, Asia-Plus — On Monday March 17, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani received Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, Aslov conveyed an official message of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to President Rouhani and extended his formal invitation to his Iranian counterpart to pay an official visit to Tajikistan in the near future.

The invitation was accepted with gratitude.

During the meeting it was reportedly noted that Iran was one of significant economic partners of Tajikistan and it was implanting a number of serious infrastructure development projects in Tajikistan.

The sides underlined the significance of further expansion of cultural and scientific-educational cooperation that is natural for people sharing common language and culture.

They congratulated each other on the upcoming Navrouz holiday and expressed readiness to promote further expansion of bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the two nations.

Meanwhile, Iran’s news agency IRAN reports that President Hassan Rouhani called for expansion of all-out ties with this Tajikistan.

President Rouhani underlined that Iran attaches great importance to progress of Persian-speaking countries.  He added that the two countries enjoy great potentials for political, economic and cultural cooperation.
