Russian deputy minister of energy arrives in Tajikistan to discuss cooperation issues

DUSHANBE, April 2, 2014, Asia-Plus – Russian Deputy Minister of Energy, Anatoly Yankovsky, arrived in Dushanbe on April 2 to discuss cooperation issues with Tajik state officials, according to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan (MoEWR).

An official source at a MoEWR says the main purpose of the visit is for the Russian official to get acquainted with the process of implementation of a protocol that was signed during the 12th session of the Tajik-Russian commission for trade and economic cooperation that took place in Dushanbe in late January this year.

The main objective of the 12th session of the Tajik-Russian economic commission was to outline priorities of mutually beneficial cooperation.  The commission, in particular, took decisions aimed at developing a two-way trade between the two countries, expanding investment and energy cooperation, etc.

During his visit, Yankovsky is scheduled to hold talks with Davlatali Saidov, First Deputy Prime minister of Tajikistan, Usmonali Usmonzoda, Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, as well as senior representatives from the Russian diplomatic mission in Dushanbe.
