DUSHANBE, October 14, 2014 Asia-Plus — Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev yesterday met with a group of local entrepreneurs to discuss celebrations dedicated to the 90th anniversary of declaring Dushanbe the Tajik capital.

“During the meeting, the mayor appreciated the entrepreneurs’ contribution to development of the city’s economy and support for social sector and expressed confidence that they will make contribution to development of the economy and creation of new jobs in the future as well,” Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

The mayor, in particular, noted that the revenue part of the city’s budget last year stood at 1.4852 billion somoni, which is 39.3 times more than in 2000.  Last year, entrepreneurs contributed 650.7 million somoni to the Dushanbe budget, which was 33.5 percent of the overall volume of the city’s budget.

Ubaidulloyev called on entrepreneurs to create new jobs in the city and provide support for vulnerable sections of the population.
