DUSHANBE, February 20, 2015, Asia-Plus — The value of the Tajik national currency, the somoni (TJS), has continued to depreciate against the U.S. dollar, registering an average market purchase rate of the dollar against the somoni 1:5.755 on February 20, up from 1: 5.71 on February 13.

In Dushanbe, the market exchange rate between USD and TJS increased from 1:5.72 on February 13 to 1:5.76 on February 20, with similar exchange rate rises in other parts of the country, according to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).

In Khujand, the capital of Sughd province, the market exchange rate between USD and TJ increased from 1:5.72 on February 13 to 1:5.77 on February 20.

In Qurghon Teppa, the capital of Khatlon province, the market exchange rate between USD and TJ increased from 1:5.72 on February 13 to 1:5.75 on February 20.

In Kulob (Khatlon province), the market exchange rate between USD and TJ increased from 1:5.68 on February 13 to 1:5.74 on February 20.

In Khorog, the capital of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), the market exchange rate between USD and TJ increased from 1:5.45 on February 13 to 1:5.48 on February 20.Meanwhile, an official exchange rate between USD and TJS set by the National Bank of Tajikistan rose from 1:5.3961 on February 13 to 1:5.4233 on February 20.
