LONDON, March 19, 2015, Asia-Plus — On Saturday, March 21, the Tajik community of the United Kingdom will celebrate Navrouz festival.

The event will be held in the newly refurbished five-star hotel in central London, Conrad London St James.

The dinner is organized by a UK-registered charity, Tajikinvest Charitable Trust, Tajik Embassy in London and the Trade Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Tajik community of the United Kingdom mainly consists of students and young professionals living with their families, in total less than 400 people.

Among the guests at the event will be representatives of the Tajik community from all over Europe, friends and admirers of Tajik culture.  Popular Tajik singer, Jonibek Murodov contributes to the event by his volunteer performance.

The general theme and the purpose of the charity dinner, apart from the Navrouz Spring Festival celebration is the mission of the Tajikinvest Charitable Trust to promote education, the unity and mutual support among Tajik people abroad.

All proceeds from the event will go in support of the 16-year-old Khudoyberdi Kokelov, humble guy from Qurghon Teppa living with his mother and having a big dream of studying in Japan. (Read more information here –

A month ago Khudoyberdi was awarded a full scholarship for three years of study at ISAK, an international school in Japan.  The scholarship covers the majority of his costs for the next three years of study, but he needs to raise funds to pay for airfare ($ 2,400), health insurance ($ 900), books ($ 1,500), clothing ($ 1,500) and pocket expenses ($ 720).

By March 19, 1,987 USD and a laptop have been raised in support of this extraordinary young man from Tajikistan; he received support from 30 people in the last 18 days.  To make his dream happen he needs to raise another five thousand dollars.
