DUSHANBE, May 8, 2015, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan took over the Victory Relay Race from Kyrgyzstan on May 7, according to the press center of the Main Border Guard Directorate at the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Tajikistan.

The ceremony reportedly took place at the border crossing checkpoint Qizil Art in the Murgab district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).  On May 10, the Victory Relay Race team will arrive in Dushanbe.

Tajikistan will hand over the Victory Relay Race to Uzbekistan.

The Victory Relay Race that began simultaneously in the Belarusian city of Brest and the Russian city of Murmansk on February 2 is going along the borders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and will end at Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow on May 28, on a Day of Border Guards.

We will recall that similar events were devoted to the 50th, 60th and 65th anniversaries of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
