DUSHANBE, July 10, 2015, Asia-Plus — In a statement delivered at the 15th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in the Russian city of Ufa, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon noted on July 10 that the SCO is destined to efficiently and adequately respond to challenges and threats caused by terrorism, transnational crime, drug trafficking and cyber crime

“No one country is able to cope with these global acute problems alone,” Rahmon noted.

Tajik leader underlined the importance of joint efforts to combat “three evils.”

He noted that the Organization must pay a special attention to the education of the rising generation.  Rahmon stressed that global economic crisis had hit the most youth.  “Our youth deserve to be confident of their future and we must apply best efforts for this,” Rahmon said.

He also pointed to the necessity of preventing youth joining various radical groups.

Among the documents expected to be released at the SCO summit in Ufa are an SCO development blueprint, a border defense cooperation agreement and a declaration on the 70th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War.

Meanwhile, as one of the biggest eye catchers in the Ufa summit, the SCO leaders are set to pass a resolution on starting the procedures of granting India and Pakistan full membership of the organization.
