DUSHANBE July 13, 2015, Asia-Plus — The number of foreign tourist arrivals to Tajikistan has reportedly doubled over the first six months of this year compared to the same period last year.
According to the statistical data from the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs, the number of foreign tourist arrivals to Tajikistan in January-June this year has amounted to more than 147,000, up from about 74,000 in the same period last year.
90 tour agencies now operate in Tajikistan; 60 of them are reportedly engaged in sending tourists to other countries and 30 others are engaged in receiving foreign tourists.
