Khatlon garrison Military Court has sentenced today two military border guards SUE NSC of RT to the lengthy terms of imprisonment for murdering their colleague.
The court found Shukhrat Yakubov and Ismoil Mamadyorova guilty and sentenced them to 17 and 16 years in colony respectively.
The court has also convicted Ensign Hisrav Odinaev under Article 292 Part 1 of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to two years imprisonment in a penal colony.
The mother of the deceased soldier Abduvohid Kayumov, who was beaten to death by Mamadyorov and Yakubov, in an interview to “Asia-Plus” said that she is satisfied with the decision of court. “This verdict will be an example to other soldiers. Let other mothers never see the death of their children, who are sent to serve in the army. Today”s verdict is a proof that our country has laws”, – added the woman.
She said that her son Abduvohid Kayumov on his own wish went to serve in the army after the driving courses in Voluntary Society for Assistance to Army, Air Force and Navy of Khujand. “He always wanted to entered the military academy after the army and become an officer,” – shares with the memories mother of a dead soldier.
Meanwhile, Rashti Toirov – the lawyer of one of the convicted said that after receiving a copy of the sentence “we will think about their future actions – appeal the verdict or not.”
Khatlon garrison`s Military Court began the consideration of the criminal case against three soldiers accused of the murder of his colleague.
According to the materials of the criminal case, on July 4, 2015 , a builders team of military unit №2747, which included 14 soldiers, led by the ensign Hisrava Odinaev, went on a business trip in the military unit №2610 of the Main Directorate of Border Troops of the National Security Committee of Tajikistan, stationed in Panj. On the 5

of July the ensign H.Odinaev left his subordinates and without notifying his leaders has left the territory. At this time, an ordinary Ismail Mamadyorov and Sergeant Shukhrat Yakubov, taking advantage of the absence of the commander, formed their colleagues in the barracks, and then beat the soldiers who have missed the impromptu formation. Mamadyorov and Yakubov have beaten soldiers` back with a wooden stick. Ismail Mamadyorov was not satisfied with it and began to beat the soldiers for the second time. As a result of the beating an ordinary Abduvahob Kayumov lost consciousness and on the way to the hospital the guy died. As a result of conclusion of forensic examination, the cause of his death was multiple injuries from blows with a blunt object – the guy had broken neck vertebrae.
The deceased soldier Abduvahob Kayumov was called up in May 2015 by the Military Commissariat of Bobodzhon Gafurov area.
The judicial review of the case is continuing.
