DUSHANBE, September 16, 2015, Asia-Plus — Over the first eight months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power and natural gas, has amounted to 2.7668 billion U.S. dollars, which was 81 percent of the January-August 2014 level or 642.3 million USD fewer, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.   14. 

Over the report period, the trade balance has been negative and amounted to 1.5382 billion U.S. dollars.

In January-August this year, exports of goods have amounted to 614.3 million U.S. dollars, 1.2 percent more than in the same period last.

Over the same eight-month period, imports of goods into the country have amounted to 2.1525 billion U.S. dollars, which was 23.2 percent fewer than in the same period last year.

In January-May, major trade partners of Tajikistan were:  Russia – 730 million USD; Kazakhstan – 453 million USD; and China – 427 million USD.
