DUSHANBE, September 22, 2015, Asia-Plus — According to the Migration Service of the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan, about 430,000 labor migrants have left Tajikistan over the first eight months of this year, which was 9.3 percent or 28,676 people less than in the same period last year.

In August 2015, more than 45,800 Tajik national have left the country seeking better employment opportunities, which was more than 22 percent less compared to August 2014.

The reduction in labor migration is reportedly due to the new regulations for entrance into the Russian Federation on International Passports from January 1, 2015, and amendments in the existing Russian Federation legislation on the activities of labor migrants from foreign countries.
