DUSHANBE, January 28, 2016, Asia-Plus – Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister Parviz Davlatzoda yesterday received Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Abbas Ali Hasanov at his request, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

Davlatzoda reportedly noted that Tajikistan appreciated humanitarian assistance provided by Azerbaijan to the earthquake victims in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) and conveyed to him an appropriate message of the Tajik president for head of Azerbaijan.

In the course of the talks, the two discussed state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan and a number of regional issues being of mutual interest.

On the same day, a ceremony of handover of financial assistance provided by the Kuwait-based International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) for mitigation of effects of natural disasters in Tajikistan took place at the Tajik Embassy in Kuwait.

Tajik Ambassador to Kuwait Zubaydullo Zubaydov expressed gratitude to representatives of the IICO and stressed that the provided assistance was an evidence of fraternal and friendly relations between the peoples of the countries, the source said.
