DUSHANBE, February 23, 2016, Asia-Plus – The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) says there were no police officers among the drug traffickers that were detained in the Shouroobod district of Khatlon province on February 20.

Muhammad Ulughkhojayev, a spokesman for the SCNS, says a joint operation carried out by border guards and police officers in the Khirmanjo area of the Shouroobod district on February 20 led to the arrest of five drug traffickers, including four nationals of Tajikistan and one citizen of Afghanistan.

According to him, more than 56.5 kilograms of drugs, two Makarov pistols and eight mobile phones were confiscated from them.

The SCNS spokesman added that there were no police officers among the detained drug traffickers.
