The event was held with the aim of providing a platform for communication and sharing experience with international companies, AmCham members and the Working Group. Additionally, the goal of the event was to disseminate information about the Working Group and its co-operation with the Government of Republic of Tajikistan.

The following guests were invited to the event: Aydin Bibolov, Resident Representative of IMF in Tajikistan, Patricia Veevers – Carter, Head of the World Bank in Tajikistan, Richard Jones, Head of EBRD Tajikistan office, Kristin Laabs, Head of KFW German Development Bank in Tajikistan, Hagen Ettner, Director of “Framework and Finance for Private Sector Development” program in Tajikistan (GIZ), Oleg Zhukov, 1

secretary of the Embassy of Russian Federation in Tajikistan, Margus Solnson, DCM and Head of Political, Press and Information Section of the Delegation of the EU to the Republic of Tajikistan, and other members of the Working Group, and AmCham member companies.  

Head of EBRD Tajikistan Office, Richard Jones, spoke about the current Trends and Challenges of Business Environment in Tajikistan, and Kristin Laabs, Head of KFW Bank in Tajikistan gave a short overview about the activities of the Working Group.  During the discussions various topics were raised, such as tax policy, current business environment, and projects of development organizations active in supporting the private sector.

Private Sector Development Working Group of Development Coordination Council consists of heads and representatives of development organizations actively working in the sphere of support and development of Private Sector. It contributes to business development, financial and technical support. In addition, the Working Group closely works with the Government of Tajikistan in improving the business environment. Members of the Working Group include representatives of such organizations as World Bank, GIZ, EBRD, KFW Development Bank, UNDP, OSCE, SCO, IFC, European Commission, ECTAP, USAID, DCCS, FAO, DFID, and others.
