President Rahmon opens Tajik embassy in Abu Dhabi

DUSHANBE, March 18, 2016, Asia-Plus – Tajik President Emomali Rahmon yesterday opened new building of Tajik Embassy in Abu Dhabi, according to Tajik president’s official website.

President Rahmon hoisted Tajikistan’s flag while the band played the national anthem of Tajikistan.

The new building has reportedly been built by the construction company Wissam Al Awadi Ltd.  The construction of the new embassy building began in September 2014.

reports President Rahmon opened the embassy building in the presence of Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy, Yusuf Bobokalonov Yusuf, Tajik Charge d”affaires, ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the UAE.

In a statement made after opening the embassy, President Rahmon said developing multifaceted ties with the UAE was a key approach of his country”s foreign policy.

President Rahmon applauded the progressive ties between the UAE and Tajikistan, saying the diplomatic relations between the two countries, established 20 years ago, are characterized by the mutual interest to develop and sustain bilateral cooperation in the long run.
