DUSHANBE, May 10, 2016, Asia-Plus – Pakistan Trade Caravan is expected to arrive in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe, within the next few days, Ms. Manzoura Rustamova, the deputy head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), noted during a meeting with a Pakistani economic delegation that arrived in Dushanbe by the first flight from Lahore to Dushanbe on May 6.
According to her, Pakistan Trade Caravan will participate in the 4th exhibition of Pakistan’s goods and a conference of representatives of business communities of the two countries.
According to data from the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Pakistan last year valued at some 65 million U.S dollars, which was 28 percent fewer than in 2014.
The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), previously known as the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), is bringing the first ever ‘Pakistan Trade Caravan’ to Tajikistan in hopes of further strengthening the economic and trade linkages.
TDAP is the apex agency of the Government of Pakistan engaged in the promotion and growth of the country”s exports. It was established on November 8, 2008, under a Presidential Ordinance, with the Ministry of Commerce as its Administrative Ministry.
