DUSHANBE, July 20, 2016, Asia-Plus /Payrav Chorshanbiyev/ — The Committee for Architecture and Construction under the Government of Tajikistan has supported the proposal of the State Committee for land Management and Geodesy regarding construction of multistory apartment buildings in the regions.

“Tajikistan experiences a lack of flat land while the country’s population is growing.  In the future, we will not be able to provide all those wishing with plots for housing, therefore, we are forced to build multistory apartment buildings in the regions,” the head of the Committee for Architecture and Construction under the Government of Tajikistan, Jamshed Ahmadzoda, told reporters in Dushanbe on July 20.

According to him, municipal redevelopment plans for cities and district administrative centers in the regions provide for construction of four- and nine-story apartment buildings.

Ahmadzoda noted that all multi-story apartment buildings in the regions would be provided with mini coal-powered boiler houses.

“Our specialists are currently studying Turkey’s experience about this issue,” Tajik officials said, adding that the issue should be coordinated with the Committee for Environmental Protection.
