The Tajik Aluminum Company (TALCO) daily increases the output of primary aluminum, which is Tajikistan's main export commodity. This, according to the company, is promoted by many factors, in particular, the growth of metal prices in world markets.

"At present, we have all the resources and opportunities to increase output and by the end of the year to meet the previously announced volumes, "- said the head of the information and analytical department of TALCO Igor Satarov.

The company previously forecast this year to produce about 150 thousand tons of primary aluminum. "We have not changed our forecast indicators yet," Satarov said.

According to him, there are many factors in order to gradually increase the output of metal. "The situation with the supply of raw materials has significantly improved. We have launched our own production of aluminum fluoride and cryolite, which are the main elements for the production of primary aluminum". The representative of TALCO said.

He noted that a big role in increasing production is also played by the fact that prices for aluminum began to rise. According to the London Stock Exchange of Non-ferrous Metals (LME), the sale of aluminum today, August 16, is $ 2,029 per tonne.

In general, said Igor Satarov, analysts forecast an increase in aluminum prices in the next two years. "And, accordingly, we will increase the production of our products”, – the representative of TALCO said.

He noted that every day at the plant new electrolysis tanks are launched, at the moment the total number of which has reached 285 units.

"Currently, more than 40 baths are ready for launch. Plus, major repairs of electrolysers are carried out, after which they will work. If earlier we stopped the work of electrolyzers, now, on the contrary, we are launching new baths", he stressed..

Satarov noted that TALCO planned to launch 100 new electrolysis tanks last year, but plans were prevented by the accident in the end of October last year, an accident in the country's electric power system. As a result of this accident, more than 40 electrolysers failed. The economic damage of TALCO was estimated by the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies in the amount of $ 8 million.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, in the first half of this year TALCO produced 49.5 thousand tons of primary aluminum, which is 32.3 percent less than the same period last year. In January-June of 2016, the aluminum giant produced 73.5 thousand tons of metal.
