In the north of Tajikistan there will be a forum of blacksmiths of Tajikistan, where masters from neighboring republics are also invited.

August 27 in the town of Dusti, Asht district of Sughd region, the next forum of blacksmiths of Tajikistan will take place with the participation of guests from neighboring countries, “Asht-Media” reports..

The next forum will bring together more than a hundred participants from the cities of Dushanbe, Khujand, Istarafshan, Isfara, Spitamen and Rasht districts. Participation was also confirmed by guests from Kyrgyz Batken.

At the forum, participants will exchange ideas, organize an exhibition of their works and learn the rich experience of Ashtan blacksmiths who work not only inside the district, but all over Tajikistan, as well as in the far and near abroad countries, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and even Iran and the USA.

According to the organizers of the forum, it is planned to open a forge in the future on the territory of the town of Dusti, where workshops, shops and shops will be located, where blacksmiths will not only make various tools for sale, but also prepare pupils and revive the lost methods of processing iron and improve them. Another proposal is to open a blacksmithing museum on the territory of the Asht district to identify and preserve rare products, forging tools and other materials associated with this noble profession.

The event was organized once again by an initiative group, which included eminent blacksmiths, journalists and public figures.

The forum will be held with the support of the local executive authority of the Asht district. The forum is held in the Asht district, not by accident – legends says that the legendary blacksmith Kova  was from this area.

Asht has more than 3-thousand-year history. It was located in the center of the Great Silk Road. The merchants stopped here for the night in the caravan-sheds, realized the imported goods, bought the products of the Asht masters, which were widely in demand in other regions and countries of the world. Thus, the products of Asht's blacksmiths came to Samarkand, Bukhara, Fergana, Namangan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, China, and the countries of Southeast Asia.
