Fixed-route taxi vans in Dushanbe now free for pensioners over 75

All of the public transport such as buses, trolleybuses and fixed-route taxi vans in Dushanbe are now free for pensioners above 75.

Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali a regulation providing for free travel on fixed-route taxi vans for pensioners above 75 on fixed-route taxi vans on December 15.   

The pensioners will have to show free travel vouchers or free travel electronic cards.   

The Dushanbe mayor’s office says the regulation has been adopted for the purpose of providing financial and moral support for elderly people.

According to the statistical data, 9,091 pensioners above 75 now live in Dushanbe.

The Dushanbe municipal transport service agency says the free travel vouchers will be issued to the pensioners by the social care departments at the places of residence.
