Tajik cement producers significantly increased the volume of their exports to neighboring countries.

In January-August of this year, 920,000 tons of cement were exported from Tajikistan, the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of RT.

Export of cement from the republic for the entire 2017 amounted to approximately 1 million tons. That is, the average monthly volume of export of cement last year was about 84 thousand tons, and this year – already 115 thousand tons. Thus, the growth of exports of this product is almost 37%. 

About 520 thousand tons of Tajik cement for eight months of this year delivered to Uzbekistan. This is just over 20% of the construction materials produced during this period. Another 340 thousand tons of Tajik cement was exported to Afghanistan, and 60 thousand tons to Kyrgyzstan.

The production was exported by the joint Tajik-Chinese enterprises "Huaxin Gaiur Cement" (32.6% in total cement exports), “Huaxin Gaiur Sughd” (24.2%), “Jungtzai Mohir Cement” (38.5%), “Taj China"(2%).

Currently, 14 enterprises are engaged in cement production in Tajikistan, the total annual capacity of which is 5 million tons.

To the main producers of this building material, along with the above-mentioned Tajik-Chinese joint ventures, is also OJSC "Tajikcement". The products of this enterprise are mainly used in the construction of the “Rogun HPP”.

Cement factories of the country for eight months of this year produced 2.5 million tons of products.

Last year, they produced more than 3.1 million tons of cement.

In recent years, Tajikistan has significantly increased the volume of cement production through the construction of new joint Tajik-Chinese capacities. Over the past five years, Chinese investors have helped Tajikistan to increase cement production almost tenfold.
