“Uzbek parliamentary delegation, led by the head of the Senate (Uzbekistan’s upper chamber of parliament) Committee on Defense and Security, Farrukh Dadakhoujayev, who is also the head of the Uzbekistan/Tajikistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, will arrive in Dushanbe in mid-November,” member of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament, Zufar Ismoilzoda, who is also heads the Tajikistan/Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

Initiated by the leaders of the two countries, it will be the first ever visit of Uzbek parliamentary delegation to Tajikistan, Ismoilzoda noted.

Tajik and Uzbek MPs reportedly intend to discuss issues related to bilateral cooperation in the field of legislation and establishment of direct contacts between elected representatives of the two countries.
